Is what you guys are talking about near the engine bay, or is this something under the dash near the steering wheel itself? Or do you literally have to take off the steering wheel to get at it? Once the steering shaft was disconnected, I could freely spin the steering while inside the car from the engine bay, so I could have twisted it a few times trying to get it all back together?
Thats exactly what you did. Try this... turn the wheel gradually right or left until the light cuts on. Then turn the wheel all the way to the left and right to have an idea which way you are off center. Then rotate the sensor or the steering shaft(disconnect at steering knuckle) the opposite direction. Basically your sensor is telling your computer that the wheels are turned at some impossible angle and it doesnt like it. When this happened to me i had to disconnect the steering shaft and turn the wheel back to the right and reconnect because i let it spin about 3 turns during my header install. No problems after that.

Need to bring this back to life. Installed a 1LE suede wheel and have the service stabilitrak issue. I've taken the wheel back off twice and reset the clock spring by winding it 2.7 turns to the right then back to center 2.7 times with the yellow indicator in the window. I simply cannot get the stabilitrak light to reset. Suggestions other than letting a GM dealer monkey with my very cool 1LE steering wheel and NEW clockspring?

Any one have a solution on this? I took my wheel off yesterday and now I have all the traction lights on and no codes. My clock spring came apart when I pulled the wheel off but I got it all back together and centered it before I put the wheel back on and now I have the problems.

I still have not serviced mine but suspect this procedure will need to be done at the dealer in the spring.

Does that have to happen when ever you disconnect the angel sensor? Because I definitely did disconnect it to fix my blinker return problem.

Not necessarily; my problem was in the process of taking off the wheel the clockspring was damaged. Replacing it throws off the yaw sensor. 30 minutes of labor at the dealer and problem can be solved but I'm very picky where I take my car and will only have the work done in the service lane. My local GMC/Cadillac dealer will do that for me and will tolerate me canceling appointments as a result of it raining.... which has happened twice! So come spring I will finally get the car in!!

Well I opened up the clock spring when I pulled the wheel off, nothing was damaged and I rewound the wires inside and installed it with the sensor in the right spot. And then I disconnected everything to see why my clicker wouldn't reset and fixed it and put it all back together and now I have this stupid stability track warmonger and all my traction lights are on. So freaking frustrating....

That clock spring has to be in the correct position, ie - so many turns from the end is "center". I broke mine on removal, and it wasn't until I got a new one that I realized where the marks were, etc. Was definitely a pain.

Well I have it centered and I can see the yellow mark in the window at the bottom. Doesn't seem to matter where I spin it the lights and service stability track are always on... This computer crap is really frustrating...

Okay so just got home from the dealer and they reset the angle sensor and everything is cleared. So if you every disconnect that sensor it needs to be reprogrammed, lesson learned!

I did my HUD this past weekend too and broke the clock spring removing the wheel. Put in a new one that has a "clamp" holding it in the centre position. But lights are still on. Am I correct that a dealer has to program the new clock spring?

You are correct, dealer, or service tech with a GM Tech 2 tool, is required. I never did have mine done but suspect the gentleman who purchased my car did.... it can be annoying... and I'm still pissed I buggered mine up!
