Sunroofs are a nice option and it probably wouldn't mess with the lines of the car as it would most likely be flush to the roof.

I'm okay with it as an option. I still like T-tops, even on this generation. My only fear is that someday the window motor will die and I will have a hell of a time fixing it.

I personally don't want a sunroof, however, I think that if one was offered it would attract a lot more people to the 5thgen and help gm reach their goal. So I vote yes to the sunroof. Also I don't know where I heard it and its just speculation but I heard the v6's may have a flat roof??? if so I'm sure they could use that roof even on the v8's when the sunroof option is checked.

^I'd lik to know where that info came from. Hmm...If GM were to do two seperate roofs, that would really raise their cost. I don't see that happening (not saying it couldn't) due to that cost. But, if they did do a flat roof, all of them could have the sunroof option. Look at the current roof and imagine a flat glass panel being put in place. Or, how else would it work? I'd only want metal on my roof. I don't want a peice of glass sitting there....not going to work for me. Now, glass under metal? Or, just metal that slides back? That might be cool.

Though I voted no for having a sunroof, to be honest, I don't care. I just want my Camaro. I want it to look, run, and sound like a beast.

Sunroofs just make the car feel so much bigger inside even when its closed.

They could contour the sunroof with the regular roof. I know contour was a, dare i say, ford but it was the easiest word i could think of.
I like the simplicity of a sunroof and with a roof that wide, that is a lot of open space. |

sunroof would be fine if it didn't mess with the lines of the car. To be honest I'm hoping for T-tops, just because they're really nice to have on my 4th gen. The only thing that I get fed up with is actually having to get out of the car to take the off and then losing more than half the already limited trunk space. I have no idea how it would work, but some sort of button operated, automatic T-tops would be amazing! I'd be willing to pay up to $1k more for something that cool.

I am sure you can find a place to install a custom sunroof

i would say yeah make a sunroof optional or maybe some kind of glass top like in the new porsche tagras. that would be nice. little pricey maybe but i think it would fit it perfect.

I would probably avoid a sunroof only because I've heard of so many bad experiences with them. For a while ppl always said never have an aftermarket one installed because they're bound to rust and leak. Then my grandfather ordered a Chevy Venture with a sunroof from the dealer and within 2-3 years there was rust bubbling all around the front edge on the roof. GM repaired it for free, but this was a minivan...I don't know if I want to have that problem with my Camaro.

My thoughts. If you want a sunroof, buy the vert. Most people who want the coupe want it for racing/power and don't want things adding weight/drag, etc. If you want to enjoy the weather and still go faster than a mustang, buy the vert.
End of Discussion. |
