Electronics changes from 2013 - 2015

I’ve been doing some research and found a lot of threads about the aesthetic and performance differences between the different model years. There hasn’t been too much discussion of some of the electronics changes, though. Specifically, I’m wandering:
  • What’s the difference I keep hearing about in My Link between 2013, 2014, and 2015?
  • Is there any difference in the way that the head unit handles MP3 playback with very very large libraries? I have around 10,000 songs I’d like to load onto a USB drive.
  • I know the color HUD can be swapped in, but can the color DIC be added to 2013s as well?
  • Is there any difference in refresh rate between the model years in either the DIC or the HUD?

If it matters please assume a 2SS with Nav & Boston Accoustics package.

Mylink was introduced on 2013 MY... I think they are all the same. It's not like an iPhone that gets an updated model every year.

There are changes with the MyLink. My friend's 2013 ZL1 has the backup camera guidelines and my 2014 2SS/RS does not. It's minor, but there are software changes to MyLink.

That's interesting. I thought the guidelines were introduced in 2015 for all Camaros and all previous years did not have them.

I installed Ofer's Rear Camera kit with his LCD mirror in my 2010 2SS last week. When I showed it to my buddy who has a 2012 2SS with the factory installed rear camera and LCD mirror, he asked me if it had the lines. When I told him no, he said his had them. So, I guess the 2012's had them.

The HUD has other extras displayed not just that it's in colour.
It seems to dim automatically when the headlights are on, and has one lower brightness setting that the 2013 2SS/RS.

The DIC has some other menus with performance that includes the temperatures and pressures.

IMO they've done a nice upgrade and it has an almost 3D look to the speed.

Not sure if all the info is there and the HID/HUD simply displays it, or if there are other changes.
So whether you can simply swap a 2015 into a 2013 and get the same results is ??

I found this thread.
it seems that they can be programmed to work correctly, or ignore the data that isn't there.

Yep, that was the same thread I came across a while ago that first got me okay with the idea of owning a 2013. Little things like this make a very big difference IMO. This is one of those must-have upgrades for me if I go 2013, but I'd love to have the DIC to match. I haven't been able to find anything on the DIC though.
