Is anyone actually replacing axle seals when using the AC/Delco (GM OEM part number 88862624) fluid with the friction modifier already included?

If the axles are out, it’s $20 or so for the seals..

Here are a couple of YouTube:

Seal r-n-r:

Axle removal:

I did mine since the axles were out..

Did the hubs and axle washers also:

I have done mine a couple times and have not had any problems and did not have to change the axle seals. I use Amsoil and change it every year.

I just changed my diff oil last night. It looks like there is enough room to get a bottle up there, but I had just finished changing my trans oil (not near enough room to get the bottle up there) and I bought this little pump from Autozone. It fits on quart and gallon bottles. Made life very easy and it was only about $10.

I just replaced my rear differential lubricant (my first time @ 61.5k), and the engine oil & filter. I cannot emphasize how easy it is to do the diff. Easier than replacing the engine oil and filter. I used my ramps............back that azz up!

Forgot to add, my local shop wanted $145 plus tax to replace my diff lube. What a rip!

That is what I did. Squeezing the 32 oz bottle to re-fill the diff you cannot get it all out because of the tight location and the bottle elevation relative to the diff. So I used the second to top off, then transfer remaining new fluid to one bottle. Us the remainder @ next change. So easy. Next to service my auto tranny....way more of a challenge on ur back.

Walmart sells full synthetic GL-5, 75-90wt lubricant for $5 a bottle.

So I've read this completely and am trying to figure out how much of what type of oil is best for the rear diff on an 2015 1SS M6. I presume I will need the conditioner as well? If you all don't mind would you specifically let me know what to get from the local auto parts store (AutoZone and Advance Auto). If I'm not mistaken I need 75W90 x 1qt? What about the conditioner? Do I mix them together in one bottle or just fill all of the 1qt followed by the conditioner?

For reference, if any full synthetic gear oil says it has limited slip additive, you don't need the additive. But you need to add the additive first and then gear oil if you do them separately.
