Tuning
New to the camaro club. I come from the diesel club. My father passed away and I inherited his 2012 camaro 1ss. I have to say I love driving the car. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but damn its hard not to love driving this car. There are all kinds of things I'd love to do to this car. I'm sure this has been killed, but what is the best canned tuning to get? I'd love to add long tube headers, high flow converters, and 3" exhaust. I don't want a race car. But the car could definitely be waken up a bit. Thanks for any input. I appreciate it.

First off, I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad 4 years ago and it’s rough. Glad you are enjoying the car. As for the car, is it a manual or auto? Long tubes, high flow cats or a cat delete, a cold air intake (maybe a scoop/washer bottle relocation) and a tune really wake these cars up for sure. As far as remote tuning packages on here, Dynosteve at RDP, Ted at Jannetty Racing, and Gwatney Performance (GPI) all really know what they’re doing with these cars and have great reputations. Dynosteve did a great job with my tune, but from what I hear you can’t go wrong with any of them. There are others with great reputations on here as well, just do a search for tuners. Welcome to the forum, glad to have you. Share some pics when you have a chance.

It's an automatic. How do you know which engine you have? LS3 or L99?

Sorry about your loss sir! Congrats on the Camaro!! Another thing folks don't know about these 5th gen Camaros is that the stock LS3 is 426 hp and the L99 stock is only 400 hp. The LS3 being a manual has a tad more aggressive cam in it and a few more points of CR than the L99.

Dynosteve at rdpmotorsport is who id recommend for a canned tune....... even though it's not really a canned tune. You buy an SCT tuner from him and he makes a custom tune for you.
My suggestion would be since I noticed you are in central FL. Drive the car to Redline Motorsports in Pompano Beach for a real dyno tune

I'm not sure why but the diesel side tends to work with canned tunes (Bully Dog preprogramed tuners) where the LS world doesn't normally work with them. Dynosteve has a great reputation on here.

Sorry for your loss and welcome to the club!
Dynosteve at RDP motorsports and Ted at Janetty Racing both have good reputations on here for canned tunes. I've bought parts from both of them and would recommend both shops for parts and help!

DynoSteve
He's inexpensive compared to other tuners, his tunes are fantastic and on point for bolt on builds, he is great to deal with, and best of all - the results are amazing...honestly, I think a DynoSteve tune is probably the best starting point for anyone with a stock to mildly modified Camaro that wants to wake it up. No need to spend the coin on a dyno tune at this level. When you buy the SCT handheld from Steve, you get free tune updates for the life of the car. So when you make a change to the car he tunes it again at no additional cost.
