Re-indexing car window?

The only way to re-index my car window is to disconnect and reconnect the battery I assume?

My driver side window doesn't go up far enough and has been causing some wind noise since the last time I had to disconnect the battery to do some work.

In comparison to the passenger side window, it can go up maybe .25 inch more.

Yup disconnect....
The negative battery cable is a simple 10 mm socket/wrench, right inside the little door.

Then roll up and down .....done.....

So when it prompts you to reindex you roll up first then down? Not the other way around?

You can pull fuse F9 in the trunk as well. Note that you have to still turn the car off and back on. It's the 30A fuse in almost the upper left.

Ignition ON. Doors closed.
1.Starting with the window completely UP, press and hold the power window switch until the
window is fully open and continue holding the switch down for approximately 5 seconds after
the window is completely open.
2. Pull the power window switch up until the window is fully closed and continue holding the switch
up for approximately 5 seconds after the window is completely closed.
3. The window should now be normalized and the window should perform the express up and express down
functions and should index normally when the door is opened and closed.

From 2016 Shop manual

Battery only 1 year old...

Car struggled to start few days ago.

Now each time it starts I get msg to reindex driver window. (Fix it perfectly each time)

Needle on battery display is only between 11 & 12, think it used to be on 14?

Any ideas? Replace battery again?

If you can't clear it, it's what I had. I'm on my 3rd window motor and I think I just lost another one.

Is there a separate procedure for resetting/re-indexing the window if it will not go up all the way?

Went out to the garage today to get my glasses from the Camaro and all was fine. Went back a while later to return them and noticed that the driver side window was open about 2". At first I thought maybe the door wasn't fully closed but that is not the case. My next thought was that the unlock button on the remote had inadvertently been pressed and held causing the windows to open partially.

The auto down works on the window however the auto up does not work and when I hold the switch it goes up but stops a couple inches short of where it should be.

Wondering if I should try this procedure right away or if there is something different I could do first to get it to go up all the way.

Thanks
Russ.
