The car you almost bought

Hello everyone!

This is my first post in the forums, so sorry mods if this isn't in the right section.

My question is this: was there a car(s) that you almost bought instead of your Camaro?

For me, I was looking for 2 things: a fast, good looking car, and a car that was affordable(I'm fresh out of college, with, well... some debt), meaning it was going to be a v6.

I did my research, and it seemed that the right choice was a mustang. I also found a couple deals on a charger, so that was in the running as well.

As for the camaro, I never really considered it, simply because they just seemed to expensive.

Anyways, I test drove a charger, and wasn't really blown away by it. It just didn't feel sporty enough, and for the money, it didnt seem like you were getting alot of car.

I test drove a mustang a few days later, and really liked it. I told the dealer to hold onto it, let me sleep on it, and I would contact him in a couple days.

Fast forward 2 days later, and my little brother(he's 14) and I were hanging out after I got off work. He somehow talked me into wanting to test drive a camaro, so off we went to my local chevy dealership. We got there, hopped in a Camaro, and off we went.

WOW. I was blown away by the car. You really can't appreciate it until you drive it. From everything I've read about, this car was supposed to be a nightmare to drive from the cabin setup and the blind spots. It wasn't supposed to be as fast as the mustang. From my experience, it didn't feel like I was driving just another car(which the mustang and charger did). It felt like I was sitting in a spaceship or something(which I loved). Performance wise, it felt just as good, if not better than the pony. Definitely more of a 'pin you to the seat' feel.

Needless to say, we got back to the dealership, and I basically told them if they could get me the right price, i'd buy it that night. The dealership came through, gave me a great price on the car, and the rest is history!

For me it was a 2013 2500 Silverado Z71 LTZ they were asking just way too much for it being used and I was not about to pay like new price for a used truck. I don't care if it was a 2013, someone already bought it and used it and probably did the nasty in the back seat, and I'm not paying like new price for abused interior!

I almost bought a 2012 Lexus IS-F and still find myself longing for one. The $70k price was the hard number to overcome.

Looked also at an Infiniti G37 IPL but the dealership was very unprofessional and turned me off of the car.

And finally looked briefly at a Ford Raptor. Still want one and might look at a 2015 in the future.

I was #2 on the list for a ZL1. All local dealer allocations were customer orders for 2012. My dealer only received 1 car for 2012. I couldn't wait so I picked up my vert SS. No regrets

i wanted to get a 2013 mustang gt 5.0, because i wanted an auto and didn't like the AFM in the camaro. ford wanted 18% financing because my credit sucks so i ended up getting the camaro (i love it)

I almost bought a yellow 2012 SS convertible, then I found a red one. :-) I didn't really consider any other car.

Was looking at the Saturn Sky to replace my 2001 Saturn L300 (Daddy car) that I had. Drove the 2008 Redline, liked it ok. Then saw the Camaro at the Denver Auto Show in 2008. Luv at first sight, had a '68 back in the day. Never looked back. Bought my 2010 ASAP in 2009 (delivered June).
