this should help anyone get a pretty fair deal.. please read and make sure you are getting everything you are entitled too... good luck... it has taken me almost 6 months to get everything in place and this article helped me out a ton...
Am I getting a good deal? I guess the 3% that the dealer is charging me over invoice is holdback.

I think so, the numbers I got for the options (and freight) we choose (wisely I might add!) were the same that show here (dealer invoice):

The advertising is $680.93 (Probably NJ vs FL difference) and then I have a NJ tax of $124.00 (some NJ/GM thing) + $6 for tires (yes you read that correct... NJ charges $1.50 for each tire sold on a new car) and of course sales tax (7% I think)
so before I hit them with any incentives I can find I'm looking at $45,387.53 + sales tax or 48.5k out the door.... this of course all changes with any incentives..... must keep looking my build week is estimated 8/5

NICE! Thanks for sharing, the example will help a lot when I verify everything on the invoice we agreed to.

GM preferred pricing may be cheaper than invoice, I'd see if you can get that over just regular invoice pricing. Private offer of $1,000 plus USAA of $750 can also be added. (Must have either or)

usaa is considered a private offer and cannot be combined with any other private offer... this is what other people have stated...

also perf pricing is not cheaper than invoice i believe its about 500+ difference and is about 700 different than wholesale... go to that link look at a gm invoice and read what the author was talking about its a hell of an education... they will not let you have holdback that is the dealer profit i have never seen a dealer give up the hold back unless its a no win situation like a older model with hail damage...

plus the dealer dont have an invoice if the car aint built it hasnt been invoiced yet.. tell em you want to see the invoice the example of a gm invoice is at that link i have up above.. make sure you know how to read it and understand it 100 percent... the dealer knows what they are doing and will get you for every penny they can that is buisness.. good luck to everyone!!!!

I actually have a printout that the Sales manager gave me that is directly from the GMGlobalConnect website, which is where they configure and order the vehicles from. It shows on one side the breakdown of each option I got on the vehicle including the MSRP and the Invoice price of each option. The sales manager said that their is no way to change the numbers that is on that sheet because it comes directly from GM.

if thats the price you are paying then, ya, thats a good deal. I'm right at 46k out the door with tax title and license fees. however, nothing is set in stone until the dealer gets the invoice from gm for the specific car.
