1SS Manual - 51

Knees work just fine. Everyone should get what they want or need, a Camaro IS a Camaro.

manual

grew up on manual transmission. first vehicle was a dodge ram v8 quadcab with 5-speed manual. lexus is an automatic because they couldn't find any manual tranmissions...boring...dying to go back to stick!!!

paddle shifters suck...a clutch and a stick is the only way to drive!

im not going back and forth with this. It was my opinion and wasnt some huge insult or targeting somebody. I mean see you getting so up in arms about this auto thing. Who really cares. i mean if i hurt your feelings i can get you some french cries or something. But the comment was nothing to bad, get over it.

Everybody who's told me to get the manual made one thing clear without saying it: the main reason to get one is to impress other "car guys" who will never drive mine. I refuse to drive something that doesn't suit me just to fit in with people I don't even care about. This isn't high school anymore.

Honestly, the car is so hot and popular people don't care if it is an Auto or Manual, they are still impressed by it. Only one person questioned me, and said I had a good reason not to get Manual. It is all personal preference. I even talked to a guy who had a old Camaro, he wished he had Auto back in the day. Also, a neighbor on my block who races cars said nothing wrong with Auto, and with that HP you are good.

I am laughing at your HS comment. I think to just own a Camaro puts you in the better category. Do us SS owners rip on the LT owners because our engine is a V8? Hell no.

Me too, if it was such a big deal and it's not. I would of learned and tried to become good at it. To just own a SS Camaro is good enough for me.

40 V6 auto. I got the auto because it's my daily driver and rush hour traffic is a killer on my bad left ankle. I plan on getting a SS 'vert in 5 or so years and that will be a manual since it will be my wife's and I third car. Keeping the v6 for daily/winter drving. I hope they keep the same body style for at least 6 years. My first 2 fbodies were both manual.

50-2LT Manual. I went with the manual partly on cost, I couldn't see spending the extra almost $1000 for the Auto, BUT...... when I was getting nervous about the reported constraints on the V6 manual, I came very close to switching to the Auto. Personally, I have owned both manual and Automatic vehicles and can see the plusses and minuses for both. My 79 Malibu is a manual and I love the fact that it is such an odd combination for that particular car. On the other hand, the clutch is very stiff and as I get older, it is not easy on the knee! Then again, my 98 S10 was a 5-speed stick and the clutch was silky smooth and easy, I loved driving it and would not have even considered the Auto in it. Get what you prefer, you have to drive it more than anyone else does so you need to be happy with your choice.

Automatic - 25 yrs old.

Inherited bad knees from my mom, clutch is killing me now in my truck so went with the auto in the car. Wish I could get the manual but I know I would regret it.
