2014 price

A friend has a 2014 SS RS, 6M, with 151k miles. Very clean one owner. I realize mileage is a factor in price. Let me know what a realistic offer should be.

KBB.com prices it at $12K to $15K for a private sale. It does ask questions that I didn't have an answer for. Also, it would vary based on your location, and I used mine.

Thanks, it’s the mileage that bothers me. If I keep it a couple of years the mileage is going to be approaching 170. Then what’s it going to be worth?

That’s a lot of miles. I know people will say ‘I have 200K and still going strong.’ But...that’s a lot of miles!

So many factors to consider. I bought a 2013 2SS RS with every option known for that series including sun roof. It had 78K I paid 18K. I drive only 6K per year so I figured that eventually my low mileage driving would serve to equalize the mileage over time to a point where the mileage would not be higher for the age of the car. I have the GN with 178K at 32 years old for an average of 5.6K per year. Higher mileage than what you have now is obviously dependent on how much you are going to drive it. At 12K price there is a lot of fun there for you for a 6 year old car especially if it was well cared for.

This is a tough one.. From a personal standpoint miles don't bother me.. It is all how it is taken care of. A low mile abused and neglected car could bear more issues than a well cared for high mileage car.

It is what the world places value on where the dilemma comes in. If you plan to keep it and drive the crap out of it who cares? If you plan to sell in a few years it will likely hit your wallet somewhat or have difficulty finding a buyer.

Tough call.. the right price is what would put a smile on your face for what you are buying. You'll know when that is right.. Almost like finding the right woman that is ok with mods .

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for all of your responses. I know that high mileage cars are difficult to sell. If it wasn’t for the miles I would already own it. I’m still tossing it around.

Depends on use too. If you are looking for a daily car, I would pass. But if your looking for a cool weekend toy, I'd grab it at 10k.

That’s probably what a 2014 SS with high miles should be bought for ($10k).

All I know is that it is sold. It’s rude to ask the owner the selling price. If it’s volunteered great, if not, leave it alone.

Asking a question like this all depends on your area. That car in Michigan and the same exact car in Arizona are worth a very different amount. Arizona cars have no rust, anywhere. Michigan cars tend to have rusty undercarriages and exhaust from the salt in the winter.

It has high mileage, 15-20k per year is current 'normal' usage, so the "worth" is in the eye of the buyer. What are you willing to pay it for, and keep in mind that worst case scenario nobody will buy it from you when you want to get rid of it. Lastly, always find out where it's been it's whole life. Is it from Texas or Florida (been in a flood?), New England (rusted to hell underneath), Pacific Northwest (leaking water inside and floors are rusted under the carpet). Carfax app is great for checking history on a car.

I'm in MI as well. This past 4th of July, I picked up a fully loaded 10 M6 RS with 44k miles for $8,800. Immaculate, just needed a polish/wax. I had a chance to pick up a 12 M6 2SS with 109k miles before it went to auction for 12k around the same time. Couldn't bring myself to do it, went with the RS. I know, v6 vs v8, but high miles just killed it for me. I was buying a DD, didn't need the headaches that come with high mileage cars.
