Looks like a typical illuminated parking light to me. I don't understand why the DRL would be moved from the parking light to the fog light for the RS. Seems unnecessary then. I could see why it would have to moved if the non-RS uses highbeams.

I believe the reason is that if the RS used the parking lights as the DRL's, it would take away from the halo's look. The halos would have a lighter beam then the DRL's. Take a look at the first silver car and imagine the halos on - a much more dramatic effect then if the parking lights and halos were on.

Also - they couldn't just make all the models use the fog lights as the DRL's because the LS models have no foglights.

the first RS/SS has just the fog lights (DRL's?) on, the last SS non RS in this picture has the parking lights and fog lights on, (You can tell they are just the parking lights because the side marker light is lit) The red SS non RS in front of it has probably got the DRL's on, because no side marker is lit and the parking lights are not lit.
If they are anything like my Sky if the car is running and the parking brake is set the DRL's will not light, but if it is sitting there running and the parking brake is off the DRLs will be on.

Looks like we've already agreed there are six...

As to the sixth being IBM, I don't necessarily agree; I think the ABM was much darker than I thought it would be, and these were taken in overcast weather, so it could easily be the ABM.

+1. i went to a dealer today to look at aqua blue. they didn't have any on the lot, but he showed me a paint book & it's definitely darker than the Chevy rendering - somewhere closer to jetstream.

The 7th car in the line is definitely a G8, but it's hard to tell what version from that distance. There is no real discernable difference between the G8, G8 GT, and G8 GXP other than the wheels (and engine of course).

about the 3rd one with just the headlights on. he could have just hit the hi-beam switch. i know mine can turn the highs on without anything else so long as the key is on.

True but you can't get the RS package with the LS, so there would be no reason to use fog lights as DRL's.

My point was made in case someone wondered why they didn't just give all Camaro's the same DRL's.
