Interior Illuminated dash trim lighting???
We just got our 2011 in and have a question about the interior illuminated trim on the dash and doors. have seen pics of these with the dash and doors lite up. ours only have the door lite up, do I have a problem with our or is this a lighting mod to make the dash light up? Bryan

The ABL on the 2LT and 2SS from the factory is only on the top edge of the door panels. The concept Camaro had the ABL along the top edge of the dash and around the entire panel on the door. Alot of people have done a Mod that makes the ABL lighting in our cars look like the concepts. Do a search about ABL lighting and also take a look at the DIY threads.

From what i have read GM did not go with the abl on the dash, maybe some worries over safety i don't know. You can add abl to everything in the car but yours is correct.

lmao its threads like this that make me really happy.
To the OP, the dash was originally supposed to light the door and dash panels. After a lame excuse, they decided to the doors only. What you have is ok and is factory. However, yourself, as well as MANY other people have had the same question. I have had many people come in and say "What happened to the dash?" lol I have the ABL done in the dash now, check the DIY section for different methods how to do it. I just find it funny because soo many people wonder the same thing and if anything is wrong or broken. I wish GM had done the dash, but now I hope they dont. My dash ABL makes it different, other then other C5 members lol

Thank you all for the info. To me this is a must do mod. This is not only a nice touch to the interior, but it is so custom looking and a joy to admire at night. Thanks again you all. Bryan

Op, you need to modify the doors if you want full light exposure and you will need to add more LED's as well. There's only one LED and one light rod per door, this is why you only get a little bit of the door illuminated. Once you mod it, you may find it too bright LOL
