+1

This is why I am hesitant to trade up for the new 2013 GT500 because who to say they wont put in a crazy dual clutch auto, electronic diff, DI, flex fuel, ect the following years and then have to trade up again. I kinda wish Ford, Chevy and Dodge would throw the kitchen sink at these car's and focus on styling instead of upgrading parts I cant easily swap every year. Good for them bad for us car nuts that have to have the latest and greatest offerings.

ZR1 0-60 3.3 seconds from motortrend
1/4 mile 11.5
Hero run 10.85

Lol at M5 having a chance with equal drivers. Some of you people are too funny.

That 14 second difference is after countless runs to get that time. That 14 seconds is a world of difference. Just like the Zl1 is within 19 seconds of the GTR, And some Viper ACR, ZR1, and Z06 Carbon times. Does that mean the Zl1 will "very well could run the same time with the same driver, on the same day, under the same conditions"? Probably not a chance in hell.

The point is that just small differences in time on the ring are substantial, and it separates classes of cars and supercars.

Except for the tiny little issue of this thread being about the zL1, not the zR1....

My money would be on the M5, and ill tell you why.

The M5 puts up z06 numbers. 0-60 in 3.7 (the z06 is about that, around 3.8) and the 1/4 at 12 flat, where the z06 does it a tad faster at 11.9. They both trap around 122-125.

Why does this matter? Chevy cant have their much larger ZL-1 outperform their 100k z06 (which has the z07 package, im using MTs numbers from the latest best drivers car comparo)

Itll be close, but the M5 will be slightly faster.
