I have been playing with mine, but, I street drive, so, no real opportunity to figure it all out...

Those questions about lights were answered previously, correct? I attempted to describe what is active and not, even what lights are on. As for PTM, I posted the PTM link at the bottom of my previous post also. States what is on, off, etc.

Excerpt:
PTM can be selected by quickly pressing the TCS/StabiliTrak® button on the console two times. The appropriate message displays in the DIC. To experience the performance benefit of this system, after entering a curve and at the point where the driver would normally start to increase acceleration, the accelerator pedal can be fully pressed. The PTM system will modify the level of engine power for a smooth and consistent corner exit. The PTM system contains five modes.

To select a mode while in PTM:
• Press the Selective Ride Control/PTM −TOUR or +SPORT button on the center console • Scroll up or down through modes 1–5 by pressing the −TOUR or +SPORT button Five PTM performance levels are available:

• Mode 1 – Traction Control set for wet or damp conditions, with Stability Control on. Steering efforts set to Tour
• Mode 2 – Intended for entry-level drivers. Traction Control set for dry conditions with Stability Control on. Steering set to Tour
• Mode 3 – Intended for an entry-level driver that has become familiar with the track. Traction Control set on Sport, Stability Control set to Mode 2. Steering effort set to Sport
• Mode 4 – Intended for intermediate level drivers familiar with the track. Traction Control set on Sport, Stability Control off. Steering efforts set to Sport
• Mode 5 – Intended for expert level driver familiar with the track. Traction Control set on Race, with Stability Control off. Steering effort set to Track

Zero. Car is a liar. As you switch PTM modes car says different chassis modes but it's not true.

True, but only once in "PTM mode" which requires two presses of the T/C button.

I know there's a lot of confusion and while holding traction control button down 7 seconds turns both lights on the dash and may turn off ptm. It will not turn off traction control completely. Pressing the traction control button 1 time turns it off completely. From there is where I'm not sure on how to successfully turn everything off. The lights on the dash will fool you. If you hold the button down 7 seconds and go dump the clutch traction control will kick in and kill the engine if you're not quick on the clutch.

LOL. This isn't the traction control, it's the tires!

Just do what everyone said. Hold down for 7 seconds until both lights turn on. All systems will be OFF. We've all done it. It works. Yes, pressing once will turn off TC, but NOT Stabilitrack. Disabling both needs the full 7 seconds.

Flying Car mode is supposedly optimized when using PTM 5. Anybody able to verify this via anectdotal evidence? ;-)

Also, I believe you aren't getting all 505 HP until you are in PTM 5. It's only a slightly more, but am pretty sure that's the case. I'd have to search again on Google to be 100% certain.

Ok, I understand now. TCS does not assume a surface, wet or dry, it trys to calculate it by jerky slippage... PTM modes assume a surface, either wet - PTM 1, or dry - PTM 2+ and are able to be more smoth with throttle slippage.. For PTM, since the computer now has user input on the track surface, PTM modes can be more exact on throttle management.

Interestingly, PTM 1, wet mode, has a lower slippage threshold than normal TCS, so, it seems, you are better off in PTM 1 in the rain than normal driving mode (no lights on dash).

I'm not trying to argue about this as it may work on some cars. If I do the 7 seconds I can't do a burnout but if I press traction control 1 time It will smoke the trofeos all you want through 3 gears easily.

Is there a way to keep the mode setting through restarts?
