My Navigation will not work in Europe - Give me ideas!
Hi everyone,
So I have my ZL1 from 2014 with the MyLink Navigation system in it. Car is built here in the US for this market. I will take this car with me over to Sweden when I move there next spring and according information that I have received the navigation system will not work at all in Europe/Sweden, and the radio will only work so-so in Sweden (it will not be able to pick up some stations). So I am now looking for a replacement head unit with the following requirements: - Need to be a nice replacement fit for the original MyLInk unit - Need to have a navigation built in - Nice GUI (Graphical User Interface) - Work with the rear backup camera - Integrate nicely with the Camaro system (steering wheel controls, bluetooth microphone, speakers etc etc). Do you guys have any recommendations on what to use? I am also thinking of maybe building a Chrome OS PC and connect it to a touchscreen and then run a normal PC instead. Do you guys know of any touchscreen that will fit to any aftermarket frames that can replace all A/C and other canbus functions? Thanks!

Its not difficult to build your own navcom based off a mobile windows PC. Read my Sig for links.

There are only two face plates currently available. For radio options, you will need to investigate or speak to someone familiar with the market in which you will be living and buy the unit from that market.

I am thinking of getting the Schoche kit with carbon fiber finish and use this stereo:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...X/AVIC-8000NEX That should do it? It says it has support for backup camera, and I am sure it can run Swedish GPS maps etc. And also, all other benefits that will outrule the MyLink. But a question I have is, will the steering wheel controls work with this stereo?

According to Scosche, their install kit for the Camaro will not work in any Camaro with My Link and factory navigation. So, you are out of luck on using a Scosche kit to install an aftermarket unit. Can't say for sure that this also applies to the Metra Kit.... |

Thanks for the heads up. The Metra is not an option as it looks too corny for me.

This is why I am keeping My Link with navi in my 2014 2LT and building a system around the factory unit. |
