The chicklet was part of their 100 year anniversary celebration. They discontinued the chicklets after the 2010 model year.

Na,Had nothing to do with their 100 year anniversary,It was for the reasons me and 1BADLS3 posted above.

August '09 the message went to dealers no more "chicklet". Same time the word came from GM that the C & C package price increase with back up sensors & freight increase. I had a good dealer and didn't pay a penny more than the original purchase order when I ordered the car.

Yeah,August sounds about right,I just can't find the bulletin in the archives,guess they figured we wouldn't need to see it now!
I know the main reason they sent it to us was so that if and when customers commented about them missing that we would explain why,and not to install them and charge GM for it! (IE-They were not on the car,and not suppose to be on the car!)

Ours was built in early October and has sensors, no chicklets but does have the performance division plaque under the hood. Since it was already on order, I paid the pre-price hike price for the car. So the sensors were basically tossed in for free. Had to give up the chicklets though.

I think the last week of August was the last of the cars without the sensors (R7C). After that, it had to be added by the dealer or it would get an error code and would NOT get built until that happened. That's what happened to us. Of course, Eric was on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

I have backup sensors but no chicklets. I'm not sure when mine was built but it was a late production I'm sure. I didn't order it. I bought it off a lot in late august 2010 model.
