I was in this position before and started to question myself saying "Maybe I should have a V8..."
Then I dropped 5 grand in my V6 to make it faster then a V8 (All bolted on with a 150 shot of nitrous) Now when someone says "Oh its not a V8?" I simply say "Yeah, your right, a V8 is too slow" followed with a night "purge" out of my grill (Keep your pants on V8 guys I know there are faster V8's out there... but in my city most of the v8 camaro's are stock... or low bolted on... even then)

Maybe it is because I am older and have grown up but I did not buy my SS/RS because it is supposedly "fast". I bought it because I liked it. I couldn't care less what cars are faster or slower than my SS - if it is a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder. I have nothing to prove to anyone and don't care what others think - I drive what I drive because I like it
IMHO, if the big thing you worry about is "I bet my car is faster than yours", then you need to grow up. Robby |

They're looking into your car to see if its an automatic??
That is gas station is weird! In general, anyone coming at me at a gas station questioning why I have this/that or with a smart comment about it is going to get a smirky response back. "..opps, its an automatic" Response: "I need my hands free when I pick up your mother!" Response: "Guess I suck. Now I'm going home back to my beautiful wife and you'll go back home to your regrets." Response: "You come up to strangers and say that? Go home and monitor tweets and troll others because you're looooonely!" Or, you can point our their car: Response: "Handling? No where near like your 89 Dodge caravan. Wow! Mine doesn't even come with an external rag holder like the one you have at the side of your c...oh yea. that's being used to cover your rust hole." Just point out their car flaws and you should be fine. For the record, no one ever came to me criticizing my car for being an auto v6. No one cares about that stuff here. I tell them what it is and their response is "that's cool. Cause gas is killin me, dude.". |

I also like the "what does your Camaro have in it?"
best I can come up with is "because I have good taste and wanted a mix of economy and performance" ppl who say things like that are losers.. 323 hp 27 mpg highway (my real world on 2LT) is awesome as for the automatic part.. people have their reasons... i do wish anyone who was able would pick up a stick would do so cuz i hate seeing it die out Quote:

Yeah it was weird he walks over from another pump and looked in my car from the drivers side while I was pumping the gas. Funny thing is that he just leaves his children unattended while he was talking to me. He had a beat up SUV I just smiled and said it was so my wife could drive it also. Then he went on about it being a V6. This has happened 5 times this past month lol. The odd thing is that there is about 5 other Camaros in my area.

V6 owner no regrets!
I don't answer dumb %&* questions none of their business. Get a lot of compliments on my LS especially when I pull away and open it up, Happy with my purchase built to my liking.

Ask them, do you race your v8 everyday? Exactly! You don't need that power if the speed limit is 35,55,65, or 70. Who saves gas more? What do you know about 6 and 8 apart from engine size and hp? Who gets higher insurance? Honestly, most people buy an 8 because it's an 8 and that's about it. Some do buy them because they wanna race which is a valid reason. A lot of people are so unreasonable so just try to understand them. They don't know anything about cars except for numbers. It's a matter of preferences. You don't need to explain them your reason...you still have a camaro whether they like it or not.

Just an observation - not wanting to offend anyone - but it seems that it is V6 owners who are always feeling the need to defend their purchase for some reason - sort of like non-Harley owners defening why they didn't buy a Harley.
IMHO, buy what you want and don't worry about it and certainly don't waste any time defending it to anyone - life is too freaking short to get bent out of shape onver teh size of a car engine Robby |

Just an FYI -Unless you got your car tuned the top speed of your car is 118mph, not 150+mph.

I'm driving back from C5FestI to Pa and stop for gas. Now this is when very few 5th Gens are on the street.
I'm filling up, a gentlemen walks over and sez "beautiful car, it has that big motor right?" I think for a split second and say "sure" Hey, he didn't say, is it a 6 or 8 and my 3.6 was big for me. Anyways, people move from the base model to the SS/1LE/ZLI and so forth, when funding allows. If the cards fall right, I may be in a C7 Vette in a year or two. In the mean time, I'm still enjoying my V6 and would suggest what Jack says lol
