Battery
Well it had to happen. Took delivery of the 2012 in Oct. of 2011. Had to replace the battery today. But I have a 2005 Jaguar that has the original battery and it is going strong.

Battery life depends on various factors to include climate, how it is driven (DD, garage queen, etc.) and electronics installed. In my case I live in a very hot and dry climate, which kills batteries, and, although it sits for days at a time, my 2013 is a DD; bought new and I now have just under 40K miles and have just installed my 3rd battery.

How funny. I was just looking up this topic. My car is a 2010, but it was built in September 2009. I am still on the original battery. It is a very low mileage car. To be exact it has a little over 16,000 on it and is a garage Queen. I'm in Michigan, so I do keep it on a tender about six months out of the year. I'm just worried one day I'm going to be out and turn the key and it's not going to start. I think in spring she will definitely get a new one. It has no hesitation so far, but I just don't want to be caught off-guard.

My 2010 had 3 that I know of, and my very low mileage 2015 is on its second, but I know that used to stand a lot, never good for batteries.
Yet I have an old Fiat battery in my garage that's 15 years old, still works great as a jump battery. |

My 2008 TrailBlazer so far holds the record for the longest lasting OEM battery in my fleet. Its battery lasted 9 years, and I replaced it almost 2 years ago. My '02 Camaro was unfriendly to batteries, and its oem unit lasted a scant 2 years. I've since used a battery tender on all of my stored cars. The battery tender does a lot in extending the life of batteries; Still even with a tender, I had to eventually replace my batteries.

That Jaguar must have the eternal life of batteries. Typical batteries last around 5 years. I thought I was lucky to have my stock Camaro battery last from August '09 until I replaced it in early '18 because it was starting to get a little sluggish.
