Rear Speaker removal
Can yall give me some info on this subject? I think I read on one of the posts here that in order to remove the rear speakers you had to cut the speakers out. Anybody know for sure if this true? I wanna upgrade the speakers, but not so sure if I have to do some cutting.

Oh where to begin....
You need to remove the rear seat, the rear windshield trim, the rear seatbelts and then the side panels from the rear. Then you will be able to remove the rear deck cover. Then you will see the speakers, they are crappy and in their own special little holders which I threw away. I used 1/2 inch MDF to make custom mounting points and then bolted them through the rear deck and screwed the speakers into that. It is a lot of work, but it is worth it. If you want to reuse the stock mounting baskets you can cut out the old speaker and put in the new if you are careful. I decided against it as I wanted a more firm mounting point that is sealed better, that is why I did it the way I did. |
