Frustration is the cruel factor, indeed....Patience and persistence are what Scott will likely need....Expect good things and recovery, but they will take time.....

UPDATE
A friend of the family took Elaine in to see Scott Settlemire today. He seems to be about the same. The nurse said that he's doing as well as they expect, considering what he's been through. They're feeding him soft foods and he seems to enjoy every bite! His right side is weak, but they hope it will strengthen up with rehab. No talk about when or where that will be yet. Elaine showed him a few cards that came today and read them to him. She asked him if he knew the people that sent the one ...and he said "yes"!

UPDATE... 5/7/17 ~21:30
Scott Settlemire is still improving very slowly. They removed his IVs, and his bp is stabilized. They're feeding him regular foods....he has a good appetite!! Still not talking much, but hopefully once he's in rehab, that should improve. He's also still in ICU, but as soon a room opens up they'll move him to a reg. room. He has a long way to go, but we're happy with his progress! ��������

His sister-in-law:
Elaine (Scott's mom) went with a friend to see Scott Settlemire yesterday. (5/15) She said he seems to be showing a little improvement! He's using his right hand a bit more and he read some of the words on a couple of the cards! (So far he's received around 100! Thank you!!) Rehab seems to be starting to work! Yay!

Update on Scott Settlemire from his cousin:
5/ 18 update on Scott. He is slowly improving. In PT he was using his right hand lifting small blocks and reaching forward to place them in a basket. He can stand and balance on his own but still needs assistance standing up. We saw two short flashes of emotion on his face when we teased him. The therapist said that is the most animated she has seen him. He gets tired easily and then kind of zones out where he won't follow instructions. They are still saying be patient he is improving. It kind of depends on when you catch him as to what you see. Just keep praying for recovery.

5/26 Update. Scott is talking in sentences. He is using his right side more but gets weak quickly. He is on soft foods now. Slowly there is improvement. We hope to move him to a step down unit next friday or saturday. It all depends on the report we get from his team next week.

Update 6/1 Scott is getting moved from hospital to care home. He can walk 120 feet unassisted and is talking more. He still needs assistance with tasks. Progress is still moving along. ( I suppose thats a dumb sentence. ) Anyway going the right way.

Here is an update on Scott Settlemire he is improving daily. He is holding conversations and eating well. Let's continue all of our prayers for that speedy recovery. ������
