DOHC's are good for some things, not so good for others. If you want a high reving inline, there's nothing better. But we're talking about a very large V8 engine, and things change a bit. First, OHV has a significant weight and packaging advantage. A DOHC V8 would be comparable in size and weight to a big block V8. That weight is also in the worst possible place: high and to the outside -not what you want for cars like the Camaro and Corvette. Also, even with independent VVT, a DOHC engine doesn't have as much low end torque as a 2 valve pushrod design. Not to mention the fact that OHV engines have also featured VVT for a number of years, and its cheaper and simpler to implement when you only have 1 cam per engine. Which brings me to another point, DOHC's cost more than a comparable pushrod design. I've heard GM's cost savings are $700/engine for OHV vs DOHC.

The gains made for those penalties are improved top end air/exhaust flow and a higher redline -areas which are rarely explored in every day driving with such powerful engines. The way I see it, the Camaro has more to lose by switching to OHC's than sticking with OHV's.

Just found out some neat information.

Online orders of the 2010 camaro have been stopped and I got some info about the 2011.

It's a decent read if you're looking for any information on them.

Hello fellow Camaro5 forum members,
I've decided to get a 2011 Camaro 2SS RS Pkg. Any feedback on what you think a good price to pay is? I just started looking around, but is there another thread discussing this?
Thanks in advance for your input!

How much will it cost to add the HUD? Or is it only available for the 2LT and 2SS?

I think you all are reading this wrong. There is no change in the v6 engine's output. They simply had it certified and the same engine as in 2010 is now "rated" at 312 by SEMA. No change in power.

That's not entirely accurate. While the "Synergy Edition Package" is not offered. Every option on the previous package is (or will be shortly) available except the green stitching.
