Starting my build

Just got my first box of parts in to start my build. I can’t say enough good things about BTR Racing. I called in and they took my order and made only one reasonable suggestion and didn’t try to up sell me on anything.
Full L99 dod/VVT delete kit, LS9 cam (way cheaper) LS7 lifter set, Melling oil pump, Holley High flow fuel rails, BTR .660 spring kit and all the needed gaskets and little parts to complete my transformation. AGP twins as soon as my next bonus check clears. Going for 10psi or 700whp whichever comes first. I’ll keep this post going with all my install pics and Dyno vids before and after.

I’m planning on putting a sump in the tank, and running a dedicated FITech system. With an aux 340lph pump it will retain the factory pump for 90% of driving then I’ll kick in the second when needed. I’m going to run a check valve and a y at the fuel rails to make it all even out.

Why do you want to install all that stuff to reach 700 whp? I thought just a turbo kit would deliver those 700 easily.

Yep, mostly I’ve seen 10psi on a stock motor only get to about 650whp in automatics. I want to be at 700whp without 12-15 psi. Safer to make power without boost on stock components . IMO

Update

Up date, everything I ordered has come in and it started the year down. Went well so far, question if anyone knows what way do the new LS7 lifers install? The oil hole is on the side not the front like the stock ones?

Build update!!

Well it’s been a long slow build with a bit of frustration. The factory replacement head bolts suck. That 22ft/lb the 90deg then 70deg didn’t sit well with my gut. So I pulled them out and got ARP studs instead. They went in 100% easier and felt better when torquing them. Moved on to all the piping and trans lines. Just need to hang the turbos and run the oil lines and she should be ready to fire and check for leaks.

Pic#1 is what happens when you ask the wife to grab the rockers and bring them out. She thought they needed a basket😂😂
Pic#2 installing the intercooler and piping.
