If its to loud you're to old. You should be fine though. Loudness is all based on which cop you pass

316.272 Exhaust systems, prevention of noise.—
(1) Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with an exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation, including muffler, manifold pipe, and tailpiping to prevent excessive or unusual noise. In no event shall an exhaust system allow noise at a level which exceeds a maximum decibel level to be established by regulation of the Department of Environmental Protection as provided in s. 403.061(11) in cooperation with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. No person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar device upon a vehicle on a highway.
(2) The engine and power mechanism of every motor vehicle shall be so equipped and adjusted as to prevent the escape of excessive fumes or smoke.
(3) A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.
(4) No ricer vehicle shall ever modify any exhaust piece creating the lawnmower effect. A violation of the section is a criminal traffic infraction provided under chapter 318.

Sorry added the (4) in, but in short in Florida a modified exhaust is not permitted. Does not stop many of us from doing it. I have no cats and drove around for a while with straight pipes from a 3" exhaust and no stops.

I run LT's, no cats and a Pypes Pypebomb axle back which is a muffler delete, except that the tips a 4.5 double wall stainless about 14" long, and resonated, lound at WOT, but driving around town and cruising is pretty calm, no problems yet with local PD and SD..Been beside them both several times, one of my local PD's at a car show a couple officers came over to talk to me and check out my car and said they liked the sound of my car, that I would e OK in their town anytime, just depends on how you drive it. Good luck.

Removing those garbage cans GM calls mufflers was the very first mod I did to my SS. ' Took it to a local muffler shop that has a mandrel pipe bender and they cut and Custom bent the pipe with no kinks and re-welded my stock tips back on. Looked and sounded awesome, except for the deceleration popping when letting off the gas (some people love that sound though). 'Never had any trouble from cops about it. Just keep in mind though, if you ever get long tube headers after doing a muffler delete, it will likely be extremely loud!

'Sounds familar, LOL... Even though I have mufflers now, mine's louder than before, now that I have LTs AND a cam swap.

I actually spoke this to a cop while at work at a school. He basically told me that its not that it matters how loud it is, what they look for is how much attention you call to yourself aka if your a sports car making that much noise, you will get tailed for a bit.
