Curious to see how this turns out.
Have you got a quote from a good indy shop?

Don't go to a dealer unless GM pays, try going to a good shop with a mechanic you trust.

Seems to be no set mileage when they fail, most were using full synthetic, which is why I switched to Dexos.

Guy I just wrote a huge paragraph again and it said token expired when I hit submit so there goes yet another huge post
In a nutshell Gm Canada wont help. The only issue they said the Camaro has is the ignition. I brought up all the cases of the LLT camaro chains stretching and how it is covered in different models and the spokesman said that they may be the same family of engine but not the same... Then advised me to see dealer and when I asked again for 10th time what would happen when it is confirmed that it is the chaines, he replied its up to the dealer. We all know not one dealer is going to take a loss. At best its 50% and half of a $3000 repair is $1500. Not soo bad but when you see this being covered on every other model, that $1500 seems like ALOT more. So ive come to the conclusion that GM Canada will be of no help and neither will the dealer because they need to make money which is fair. So I am going to buy the parts and change them myself. And truthfully, I really was looking to buy a new SS or a Stingray but after this I truly dont see why I would. Just seems like a terrible financial decision apart from the obvious fact thar you get a sense of betrayal from GM because theyre neglecting the Camaro in a known problem. Anyways trying to source the best prices on the chains and then im going to perform the surgery.

Is this a 2010 only deal? I've been following this issue but it only seems to be on the 2010's. Just curious.

The issue seems to have been remedied in the 2011 lineup.

Good luck to you . Price of labor is a lot from the dealer . I wonder if any has just put a LS3 motor instead of fixing the LLT problem like when their chain went or lost all the oil .
