Which Oil

Alright I did a search and got to many hits. It's time for my first oil change and my question is in brands. In my previous cars I ran Eneos and Mobile 1. I've heard of Royal Purple. Obviously these were Jap cars, but what is the best oil for this car?

Any oil that meets the dexos1 specs will work. http://www.gmdexos.com/licensedbrands.html

If your engine fails and GM traces the problem to non-dexos1 oil, they may not honor your warranty.

The best oil for the car is the kind that the people who made the car recommend. Mobil 1 Synthetic.

Not required for his 2010.

Stick with synthetic. Mobil1 is the best "off the shelf" IMO.

I highly recommend using Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil and a Mobil 1 oil filter.
Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil is endorsed and highly recommended by GM
engineering. Also make sure you do you're oil changes on time!

Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 filter are a safe choice. I ever run Mobile 1 or Castrol Edge depending on who is having the sale when I get oil.

I ask the dealer about oil for our v6 and he told me that full synthetic was not a must for the v6 motor. But was for the v8. I have always used full synthetic, but never used Mobil1. May have to start since most of you seem to use this type oil. Oh and its a sponser for Tony now. Camar5 is really a nice site!!!

I just did my first change and used 5w-30 Castrol Edge w/Titanium (on sale at Oreillys for 5.99 qt) with a Mobil One Extended Performance oil filter, the car is running like a dream and I can detect a "seat of the pants" difference IMO.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I'm an AMSOIL fan and have been for a long time. When they test their products against the competition, they name names. No other company I know of does this. Check them out at Amsoil.com .
