Aftermarket Leather

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket leather? I'm looking to replace the stock two tone of beige and black with all black. I know that Katzkin makes a full set and LSeat makes the fronts, I didn't know if anyone had any experience with either company or a different one out there.

Thanks for your time!

Are the Katzkins a cover or a total replacement?

My driver's seat bolster is a freaking mess. Ruined by jeans and the rivets on the jeans. I have back issues and unfortunately have to slide my fat ass onto the bolster to get in properly.

1JEWLDSSRS, you have any interior pics?

You can’t go wrong with katzkins, or leather seats dot com. They are both very good quality.

Yes I have pics in my photo bucket, I will post them later as they are a PITA to pick and post now. There is also a bolster protector out there you can get to slide over your seats, one of my buds got them for his seats, and he is a big boy as well, I'll have to find the link he sent me..

Oh you don't need to go through any trouble. I think I was just more interested in seeing what your interior looked like since the exterior looks so great.

I installed Katzkin leather seat covers in my 2011 crewcab Silverado almost 7 years ago. Excellent fit and finish and they have held up very well. Kit cost me $495.00 and I spent 2 separate weekends removing the junk factory cloth and installing the leather. GM price was something like $3500.00+ for the complete kit lol. Take your time and they'll look seamless when done. I've seen so many that have wrinkles and in general just don't look tight and right because they got in a hurry to finish.

I put LeatherSeats.com in mine. Two tone yellow/black. They fit absolutely perfect.

Some tips I have are rent a commercial wall paper steamer, use that to steam the foam in your seat, this will bring it back to the original (or close to) size. Second is these cars have over 100 hog rings. I don't remember exactly how many but I ordered a kit of 100 and came up short, I think it was like 115 total.

All in all it took me and a buddy, who neither have experience doing upholstery about 10 hours to do all three seats. LeatherSeats.com also includes leather pieces to do the dash and door inserts, although they are default the base color you chose for the seats not the accent color so I ended up ordering some raw leather from them in the accent color to do the inserts.
