New 6.4L "392" Hemi to be rated at 475 HP/460 LB-FT Trq...

Decent ratings, but I had hoped for a full 500 HP/480 Lb-FT Trq...

The new Pentastar V6 comes out better than rumored... 305 HP/ 268 LB-FT Trq...

The 5.7L Hemi gets a small upgrade to 379 HP/410 LB_FT Trq...

Dem wars man.. dem wars.

GT500.. Check.

392 Hemi.. Check.

Z/28?.. Uh?

I can totally see dealers jacking that Inaugural to $100K+ (possibly on top of sticker..) Dunno why but most Dodge dealerships I go to are manned by tools and d-bags. Sad considering how win the 392 sounds in concept. :/

v6 is respectable now.

Doesn't look like they did anything to the R/T...It was thought to be underrated already anyways. Any idea if they made any adjustments to the handling of the car?

That SRT8 sounds beast. Hope it's not too expensive, and we could see it in other Chrysler vehicles...

Eh, needs at least 300lbft to haul 'dat azz' around as well as Camaro and Mustang. C'mon Alpha chassis..

The Big C needs moar powar, Sergio.. Camaro 6 can still make the Kessel Run in less than 14..

is it just me or does the FE in the V6 look awful. the 5.7L only gets 2 less MPG in the city and 1 Less on the highway

That will help with the weight of the vehicle.

6 operates on 6 cylinders 24/7, 5.7 operates on 4 or 8 depending on the application so if you drive it like we would... you'll see that MPG dip horribly but if you cruise like a lame-o you will be in 4 cylinder mode more than 8 hence the respectable FE.

Wonder what the pricing will be on the new 392...

My problem, personally, with the Challengers has always been size. I know they were big cars back in the 60's but the Challenger is effectively built on a 4 door sedan platform and that bears out on the scales and overall size.

I really looked at the SRT8 back before I bought my first GT500... but at that point it was auto only and it was very portly.

Drop some weight/size and I'll be interested.

Edit: Challenger and Camaro are closer in size than I originally thought... interesting.

He wasn't complaining about the V8's fuel economy. It gets about the same as the Camaro and the Mustang. But for the V6's, both the Camaro and the Mustang do significantly better.

475 is not enough for the cost. i dont see gm answering that hp claim. ford doesnt care. chevy would need 6.4 liters to compete. challenger should compete at the track finally. for the few who buy it. the hemi is going bye-bye soon anyway. FIAT is not into big V8's. they make 500-600hp with small motors already.
