Quietest Cat Back system

I have Kooks 1 7/8 long tubes with catless midpipes with stock catback. It is way too loud for neighbors. I bought two Magnaflow 4" round muffler / resonators that are 14" and 20" long total. My hopes was to use them and quieten it down.

https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=10416

I was hoping the muffler shop would be able to move the stock H-pipe forward and then weld the two resonators in, but shop said there was not enough room. I thought they would fit!! Oh well... They said they would hang too low.

So now I am looking for the quietest catback out there.... Any suggestions...

I bought one of these (actually just came today) and I'm going to have a shop cut out the stock H-pipe and install this in its place

http://www.phastekperformance.com/Ca...pipe-11386.htm

Hopefully there's enough room for it...I didn't do any measuring but a few people here with SS's said they've installed it. I know a lot of V6's with muffler deletes install them as well

I wanted to do that exact mod but shop said it was two wide, and would be too close to fuel lines and being 4" deep, it would hang down and drag. When you install please take pics, if it fits I want it.... Also let me know how much it quietens things down...

Hmm I'll let you know how it goes. I want to get it installed this weekend. Mine will be further forward than your two resonators, since I am having them replace the H-pipe. JDP is selling these for our systems in another thread, too, so I'm pretty sure it should fit. I'll find out though

Guy with an L99 installed them here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62039 Looks tight but should fit

Some V6's with them http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=241703

You're doing all this for your neighbors? Are they somehow requiring you to do this?

It's really not that loud when the NPP exhaust flaps are closed. When they're open, yeah that's a different story. I bought the M2W switch so I could keep it quiet in the neighborhood at night/early morning and to do vlogs. Works great! Of course that depends on your definition of "loud."

Mild to wild only has two modes, not "stealth mode" per se. So you can't have it closed 100% of the time. At idle up to 1500 or something they are open. So startup and warmup is all open

I had Solo install two resonators in place of the H pipe. Fits fine and quiets my Z down nicely. I have an exhaust controller that allows me to keep the NPP system closed, especially on cold start up.

I have the ADM exhaust controller and there are two modes: stock and 100% closed all of the time from idle to WOT. Helps keeps the sound level reasonable for those with LT's.

Cool. I wired in a 3 way switch so I can have open, closed, and stock. And yeah the closed helps a lot with early morning startups

We can confirm that you should have no issue fitting that resonator on your car. Heres another pic of it on an SS for reference:

Heck, almost every owner in the V6 section runs a variation of that one! Maybe if that exhaust shop doesn't feel comfortable performing the mod you could try a different shop?
