Um...that knifeless tape isn't as easy to use as they show in the video. I'm quite a crafty and handy girl (I have lots of power tools) but I couldn't quite get the hang of the knifeless tape. Not giving up though!!
I feel the same way, so what I am doing is only mods that are reversible, no cutting of wires, no splicing, etc.

Nice bowtie. I went just CFM with a chrome outline from River City Creations. Also, for anyone else that still has vinyl stripes, I use Adam's Super VRT Tire and Trim dressing, works great.

+1

I also use Brilliant Glaze before Super VRT....helps knock down any uneven splotchy type areas.

Wires can be soldered back together, and splices can be undone. My car can be turned to stock easily, just takes time an effort.

Not to mention I couldn't leave anything stock for more than a week

Yep! But definately NOT with a Porter Cable. I use a hex pad.

Look here for details:

I've also used the fine machine polish (again by hand) to remove scratches.

Excellent info, thanks for posting! Now I can clean up my gray stripe as it's gotten a little blotchy.

Anyone had a bodyshop repaint a panel yet? I was hit rear bumper and the bodyshop cannot match it with the quarter panel. They've tried twice now. I am thinking about getting a second opinion from another shop at this point.

I have not. Matching metalics is very difficult. I am surprised they have not tried to do a blend onto the panel. You are lucky they did not based on the piss poor job they did on the bumper. No depth at all.

I had my front bumper redone, it's close by no exact match. You really have to look at it to see it tho.

That looks terrible... They need to do a better job. ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOR! and there is hardly any metallic in the bumper compared to the Cyber Gray!
