Ran 11.7 n/a with heads, cam and exhaust on all season tires with traction control on. Tune was never perfect as it was home brewed.
Now have a ProCharger D1X and plan to hit low 10's to high 9's this coming year. Once I do a forged shortblock, I might shoot for 8's by the end of it. But I want the car to do just as good in the twisties as the strip, so a good all around hotrod.

I just like my car to turn heads with the sound of the cam. I also want it to do mid to low 11’s and perform at auto X. Even tho I’ve never been to a track.

11 even low 11 is hauling azz for a street car. I'm not trying to build a race car, that gets obscenely expensive. Cost start to snowball once you start getting up there in HP, at least if you want it to hook and not break parts.

I owned my 95 Camaro for 21 years. I owned my 2011 V6 for a little over 2 years, but then upgraded to the V8. I plan on this one rivaling the 95 or possibly beating it in terms of ownership time. Plans can change, but that is my current thought.
As for plans for the car itself, very minor mods really. My 95 was stock until the end. My 11 has a few cosmetic changes, but there will be minor performance mods made as well.

I’m keeping mine forever for several reasons. First, I LOVE my Camaro. Second, my oldest son who is 2 absolutely LOVES the car and gets SUPER mad when I go somewhere in it without him. As for the modding, I’m modding to enjoy the car. I don’t care about whoever may own it one day whether that someone is one of my boys or if someone else buys it after I’m long gone. Since my wife doesn’t want me to race it I’m nearly done on the performance upgrades, theoretically.

I tend to move through toys every couple years. This one I believe is a keeper. I LOVE the look of this car. Mods in my signature, winter its getting Cam, BAP, and I think meth. looking for 700-750WHP and I will leave it there. When the clutch goes I will send out the trans for upgrading, When the rear end goes it will get a ZL1 swap. If I lose a piston it will get forged, maybe stroker and 900ish WHP will then be the goal. IF I ever sell it, I will likely get a C7 Vette and mod that.

i PLAN on keeping it for a while. id like to either do an NA build or cam and blower, not sure which yet. I dont do any racing anymore. I just enjoy having a nice bar that turns heads and one that im able to jump in and drive wherever. Having power and TQ is just a bonus for me. I really want that cam lope though.
the other side of me wants to keep it relatively stock, being low miles and early production, i would like to think/hope the value to be higher in the future.

What is the ultimate goal for your Camaro?
Quote:
Actually, no. The 6L80 started slipping a few weeks after the D1X, fuel system upgrades and dyno tune. I went to a Tim King built Cadillac CTSV 6L90 built to hold 1,000 hp, 1 piece DSS drive shaft and Circle D triple disc 3400 stall converter. About 3 days after the 6L90 went in, the pump and bell housing broke on a short roll to 140 mph. We couldn’t determine any fault, so the installer and Tim stepped up and ate the labor. I bought all parts and another new converter to be safe. No issues since then with the setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I took delivery in Nov 2009. Drove her a year, bone stock, figuring out the direction I wanted to go... Decided on a bit of forced induction, then went whole hog in on land speed racing, specifically, standing Mile events... my goal, a world record... I ticked that box...
Now due to health issues, the car is for sale and I’m not sure where I’ll go after she is gone... Maybe another Camaro, pure driver, no mods, which would mean a 1LE ZL1 in my case, or get away from performance cars altogether... 2000+ RWHP was fun while it lasted..... I haven’t decided yet...

I'm a fence sitter.
Option A: Keep it forever with a few power boosting mods and gears. Option B: Go back to Corvette after my son is out of college. Option C: Wait for that flying car they promised would be an option when I was a kid. Where the hell is my flying car??? |
