I am not brand new to the world of circuits and what not, just not overly versed in the subject. This is also the first time I have built one using a transistor. I have done my reading online as to what exactly a transistor does, but don't know how to test them or anything yet (what should I be looking for on each pin of the transistor?). This stuff fascinates me and I am trying to learn as I go, but this one has me stumped. I am really close to just putting in a push button somewhere indiscreet since I don't really want to spend $67 on a switch.
I can understand your frustration. The cost becomes secondary when you start pulling your hair out. The Switch-Link box is different in design, uses different relays and components as well. We tested this design you are working with and had some problems. Designing, engineering, building printed circuit boards, packaging it all, etc is more expensive then buying parts at radio shack and hoping for the best. I understand, like you said, it's fascinating and fun building this kind of stuff. We just tried to design something clean, tested, and ready to install. It's not for everyone.

Check your transistor. We see defective ones that go bad quickly and sometimes don't work from the factory.

help with switch link

I installed the switch link setup, but have a problem. Testing with the car off gives 12.3v on the line lock wire when the cruise cancel button is pushed and drops to 0 when released. With the car on, I get 14v when I push the cruise cancel button, but the voltage does not go back to 0 when I release the button, it only goes back to 0 when I turn off the cruise control button. It seems to work as a momentary switch with ignition on engine off, but does not work properly with engine running.
Any help is appreciated.

Wired up my electrical circuit and every time I flip my switch it blows the fuse. Someone please help me figure out what I did wrong. I rechecked everything and it looks right according to the diagram.

Are you using the Switch-link box or did you make your own using the diagram?

There is a new revision to the Switch-Link box and it works like a champ! Love mine! Did some major burnouts at the drags last week.

What do you mean there was a revision? I purchased my switch-link bow last fall but was never able to install it due to an unexpected deployment. When did the revision come out?

Also what line lock kit is everyone using? I've found the SLP and Hurst kits, does anyone have any preferences?

To anyone wondering, the Switch-Link box for activating your line lock has been updated and works wonderful. If you have questions or own one of these, PM me and I can get you the information you need to get yours updated. I use mine every week and I LOVE IT. Coolest thing ever.

Thanks.

I just installed mine this weekend and used it at the track. Seems that it locks the brakes as soon as I hit the cruise control button. Not the cancel button. Other than that it's awesome.

What's the difference between the new and old version as I have the older one.

sent from my Note 3 using Tapatalk... that eoukd explain any errora

The entire circuit has been redesigned. Sent you a PM. Any and all issues we had on a couple of the units has been resolved. They are working flawlessly now. Thanks for the info.
