How long did a performance shop have your car?

Curious to see how long other shops had your car to do mods? I dropped mine off to have a new cam installed...also having them do headers, cutouts, axle back exhaust and install a hurst shifter. Its been 11 days since I dropped it off and I dont know when they'll be done. Does this seem long to you?

Kind of a tough question to answer because it depends on if they have to order parts, if parts they order are backordered, and where you are in-line. So this answer is going to vary person to person, shop to shop, and situation to situation.

No not at all, some members have had their car in the shop for a simple bumper replace for MONTHS!! Give them another few weeks before calling

Usually for us, we wont even schedule the appointment unless we have all of the parts here (even if they're out of stock here and have to be shipped to us). I think the longest install we've ever had here was for a Turbo kit, suspension goodies and a few other things but it was a 2.5 day install. Some Corvette blowers can take a long time w/ meth injection that have a similar time frame but 11 days sounds like a lot unless they didn't have the parts in stock, that would make sense.

Sorry.....should have mentioned.....I order the parts through them 7 weeks earlier, then after 7 weeks, they set up a date to bring it in.

it depends on how busy the shop is and this is the busiest time of the year. I had my cam and headers done by a one man shop in the winter and with dyno tune it took a week as he has to do other customers jobs as well, and test drive.

It depends so much on how busy they are. The busier the shop is tells me they do good work. Great things come to those who wait.
The other factor that is common with all the other shops is if they have all the parts they need to work with readily available.

I can understand one week with a one man shop.... The place I brought mine to said they can fit eight cars inside to work on.....think they have eight lifts inside their garage.
