On street tires I'm leaving at around 2500-3000rpm, and less clutch slip than I needed with the 3.45s. I like the e-brake preload as well, just plants everything nicely. I can still feed most of the throttle in pretty fast like that. I do need to be more careful on the 1-2, too aggressive and you get an unacceptable amount of wheel spin.

Can't wait to see how they work out for you.

gonna start at 5k with lower tire psi..see what the wheel spin is like out of the hole and then back down launch rpm's to find a sweet spot is the plan..and most likely confirming slicks are probably in the future...see if I can borrow my mechanic buddies set...T&T is sat AND sun and for another $30 might be well worth the experiment...

Headed to the track next Friday with a set of drag radials. Will be my first time running drag radials, hoping to get the car into the mid 12s.

So the good news is nothin broke! lol...car is doin what it's supposed to...now I have to figure it out again...biggest changes is increase in launch rpm and keepin it all straight at the light...and per the following pic and vid, car is hookin at 16-17 psi....DA got to almost 2500...hopefully some future fall days will have cooler temps...

Couple thoughts. First - wow, that's got some traction at the line now, huh? That still shot of the hit looks awesome - nice. I studied the video bit to see what I could get out of it. Right off the bat, it looks like the RPMs dropped down to 2,000rpm or even a little less on your clutch release. You could add more RPM to the launch, but I think you need to lengthen your clutch release just a tick. You don't need to slip nearly as much as you would with stock gears, but I think you're bogging it pretty good off the line with such a fast release.

Shift RPM looks right on the money at 6500 - based on the mph shown and my calculators shift points of 46, 67, and 97 for 3.91's on a 28" tire with the M10 gear set. Shift speed could use improvement, you won't see a big gain in ET, but it'll MPH better. It's a fine line, you can get too aggressive there and do more harm then good, but I bet you could pick up a mph or two there.

3.91's are definitely going to hurt MPH as well, you're probably only around 5100rpm going through the beams. A 26" tire or 4.10's would get that up some - I cross around 5600rpm on a 28" tire. A 26" AND 4.10's would be the hot ticket, but that requires a 15" setup, or you're into tires that don't have a lot of sidewall in a 17/18" range (ie. 315/35/17 ET Street S/S). At our power levels, that might not be too bad. I think 18x11 ZL1 reps would be sweet looking on my car - but a 17" 315/35 would get my trap RPM up over 6000rpm. Once I get a cam stabbed in there that's would be even better.

But man, that leaves hard. Love it! You'll get the launch and the shifting dialed in as you get more time with it. Better DA will take a few MPH back on as well.

5500 started gettin me some wheel spin...just kinda freaks me out a little sittin there with the motor rev-in so high, that is what takes gettin used too...

and the only way I could shift faster would be to hold down the gas pedal while clutchin but don't want to take it to that level yet...

and yeah the DA was kinda meh...appreciate the feed back!

I love the fact the rear tires wrinkle a bit...

DA will give you some back, that's for sure. You'll just have to play with the launch - but it definitely seemed to bog, so either more RPM (which will probably spin the tires) or a little more clutch slip will probably help.

The wrinkle is awesome! Some day I'll get there.

quick additional update..after pullin the DR's off and starin at them for a couple of days(what it took to peculate thru my gray matter!) came to realize that even tho the tires were mounted with bead sealer...got some rim spin...tiny bit and per the pic's even on both sides so the posi is gettin the power the the rear wheels nice an even...

so I think by raising the psi back to 18 and keeping the launch rpm at 5500 will give me enough wheel spin out of the hole without boggin...with my mostly stock motor it's almost like I have too MUCH(hahah) traction for the car...if that is even a thing...so many things to take into consideration...next T&T is 10/28...

I still think with your power to traction ratio you're going to need to use some clutch slip. Just gonna have to make more passes and figure out where it wants to be.
