Any suggestions for a quality battery tender
Does anyone have any experience with a battery tender that is safe to use on the ZL1?

This is the one I use, works great. I wired it to my battery:

Mine came with the battery charger. I have used Diehard and some other company in the past. Battery Tender is good. I think they all are pretty decent. It mainly depends on which one you're more comfortable with.

I am the same as Flynnzl1.
Deltran battery tender. I have 8 of them lined up along the wall with 25ft extensions from Deltran that run to each vehicle. I have never had a problem with one. I put a wiring harness on each battery that Deltran supplies and then I use their 25 ft extensions with the plug ins on each end and run that to each charging unit. |

My ZL1 came with a Camaro battery charger, but I wanted to wire it to the battery so I can unplug easy.

Just keep this a bit in perspective: You don't need any type of charger at all if your car's gonna sit LESS THAN 2-3 WEEKS.
It's when you store car for longer than three or four weeks, e.g the winter, long vacation that you need a tender. The car shuts down after 10 minutes to sav on the battery for shutting everything down and Going to sleep. Don't get paranoid about not having a charger if your car is driven at least 2-3 times a week. Last summer I did five weeks away, battery connected, and came back and it started fine.

I have gone on vacation for 3 weeks and come home to a dead car so now I put all my daily drivers on chargers when I go out out town for more than a week and I keep all my toys on chargers all the time and just unplug the one I want to use that day and when I return home it gets plugged in again.
Sometimes some of my toys do not get driven for months though and the electronics in them slowly drains them so I keep them plugged in all the time. For my camaro, I have the harness for the camaro charger on the battery and the battery tender harness also but I have only used the battery tender so far. |

I bought the "Camaro" one that GM sells either as an option with the car or as a standalone part. It wasn't cheap, but I figure if it is sold by GM for use with the Camaro then it is properly spec'd for it. TGMPG will save you some money, if you go that route.
