I would be careful if using the bolts to pull it into place. It could bend the clutch hub. Using the bolts the last eigth or quarter inch is one thing, using it to force alignment is another. You can also try using longer bolts to help align the trans as it is going in while watching the gaps of the trans to engine. |

I just tightened all the bolts up, going a few turns each time. Until it was snug. Using a breaker bar I could turn the output shaft, so it must have lined up. I just hope I didn’t bend the clutch fingers on my way in. I am plugging everything back up, filling up fluids and seeing what happens. My 2 day project is on day 5. Once again proving any job can be done in a driveway, but just because it can be done, doesn’t mean it should be.

I just finished the 500 mile break-in which was hard to hold back for. There is some chatter, but I also installed a MGW short throw and that is a little noisy too. Clutch works great, shifts smooth and grips amazingly. In hindsight I would not have done the bronze isolator cup, I caused a lot more work to be done and I don’t know if it made any difference.

I had to take the entire trans into the garage. That took some doing with the car on jackstands. The punch pins were easy with the trans out. The bronze cup is very sturdy and and break.
