So I posted up about a proposed cruise to Dillard with a stop at a winery, meal at Dillard House and Tiger Drive In Movie night!

Ok guys, I'm updating the thread, update Aug 5th
Plans! August 17th

Meet at IHOP at Buford Drive and Lee Street at 8:15-8:30 for breakfast (optional)
Rally at the QT on Buford Drive and Satellite in Buford for the non-breakfast eaters at 9:45
Depart QT at 10AM to head to the mountains
Travel up 985, which turns into 365/23 past Gainesville
Stop at Jaemor Farms in Alto area for 15-20 minutes

Travel up 365/23 which becomes 441
Stop at Tallulah Gorge overlook off 441 on Loop 15 for 15 minutes
Travel on up 441 to Dillard, GA. At that point it should be about 12:30-1 and lunch time. I suggest Dillard House, but if you want a less pricey option there's Subway and several other restaurants. I'll have a list with me.
Now for the fun..........a mountain drive from Dillard to Highlands, NC up Hwy 246 which should take about 30 minutes. Then we'll take Hwy 64/28 toward Franklin and stop at Bridal Veil Falls.

We should be in Franklin in about and hour after we pass through Highlands. We can stop at Sonic if you want then head back down 441 to Dillard and 12Spies Vineyards. If the winery isn't your things, I have some other ideas for you, but the winery is a beautiful laid back place with a nice deck.

The Tiger Drive In shows first run movies and the movies will start at dark, so we have time for dinner.

I would suggest spending the night in Clayton or Dillard, so if you want to do so and go to the drive in, I can suggest a couple of places.

I think the first Saturday of the month (Aug. 3rd) is a Hot Rod night.

Seems to be some interest. I am not going to Camarofest, and the Tiger Drive In is only open during the drive in movie season. I'm going to figure out how to post a poll with some proposed dates, keeping in mind this might not be an option for the Camarofest attendees.

I'll probably do everything but the movie, and Any of the dates as good as the other for me.

fyi - There are a couple of Road Atlanta "drive your car" events within the proposed dates.
August 3-4 NASA
August 24-25 Chin

August 17 is wide open.

Off work on the 3rd myself, so that's a good day for me. 17th is my second choice, off that weekend as well. Any road side gold panning outfits along the way??
