What's your average mileage?
I'm wondering if mine is too low, It's killing me. I drive around town 90% of the time and the average is around 11.5MPG, I have an SS L99 with 22" wheels. What other factor should I consider? Is 11.5 too low or is that about right? I think I get 11.0 city and around 16 mpg highway, but the dash says 11.6 every time I reset it and wait a few days.
Keep in mind I do have the occasional rev while it's in neutral, I'm sure that contributes, but is it really that bad?

Drive like grandma and you'll see better numbers. Also, there's about 3 threads right now asking the same thing and about a hundred previous threads. Search is your friend.

My L99 doesn't do the greatest around town or when I get on it...it tends to be a little thirsty, but I don't care about that. I'm more concerned with highway milage. 70-75mph I get about 24mpg. 50-55mph I get about 28mpg.

2012 L99 2SS/RS about 90% residential driving with avg speed at 25 mph I get about 15mpg and I do hit it whenever I can. I think your 22's are getting you in trouble on the computer. Measure it out on paper and see what your true mpg is and don't count on the computer especially with the 22's.

I hate to say this, but 90% city, and those heavy 22 inch wheels are the reasons for the MPG you are getting. I have the M6, in in strictly city driving I will get about 15 or so.

We drove my wife's 2010 2SS/RS 6M on a two day 650 mile cruise on some fantastic Texas back roads last weekend that included umpteem times of really "sprited" driving. Average mileage for the 650 miles was 19.6 mpg. Considering how many times we hit XXXXX mph (in the wide open spaces with no other traffic) that is outstanding to us. BTW, our daughter drove my 2006 Corvette Coupe and it's average was 21.6 mpg so IMO both cars are the best of both worlds compared to a lot of others out there.

17.0 mpg after 4169 miles (29.6 average mph.)
3.5 mpg more than I was getting in my Sierra.

I was averaging 13 mpg under regular city driving. At first I would find excuses to drive my car everywhere. Recently I found myself wanting to take my wife's Mazda 3 because of how great it is on gas..
A week ago, with all the pain in my heart, I traded her in for a 2012 Kia Optima SX (with paranomic sunroof, hids, leds on back, PEARL White,) and it is averaging 26-28mpg.. |
