Glenn, Thank you for contacting the GM Heritage Center. Whilst we are not able to show how many of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 had ALL of the options you listed, we do have some of the information. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Glenn,

Thank you for contacting the GM Heritage Center.

Whilst we are not able to show how many of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 had ALL of the options you listed, we do have some of the information.

GM built a total of 3,048 ZL1 (includes coupe and convertible)

Of those 3,048 there were 1,234 with 6-Speed Manual Transmission
Of those 3,048 there were 2,571 with 8” Navigation Screen
Of those 3,048 there were 54 with Bright Yellow Exterior Paint

I’m sorry we are not able to provide a better breakdown though I hope you find this information helpful.

I also noted that only 2999 vehicles were offered for sale. The other 49 are not accounted for.

Build number: #1,127 out of 2,999 built for sale.

It would have been nice to know how many of the 409 Hperblue ZL1’s had a manual.

Glenn, thanks for the information. Did they say what your build number was? Because only 2999 were offered for sale.

No, but it was in the 5th week of production. It was built the week of 11/14/2016. I was there for the build. I got some great pictures. I get yelled at, every time I put them up.

My build date is 10/20/2016 which must have been the very first week of production if your build date was the 5th week.

The car arrived at the dealer around lunchtime on 11/10/2016. It was in my garage by 8 PM that evening.

Have you contacted Ms Adelson at GM Heritage? She did provide me with a build number. BTW how many miles do you have on the oil pump? Any concerns? Are you adjusting your driving?

The build date for my 2017 was 4-10-2017 and it has around 26,000 miles. Knock on wood the oil pump hasn’t failed and keeping fingers crossed it doesn’t.

Hi Greg,
That's good news! I'm going to the Camaro Nationals next week and hope to see more of these cars there. I'll be doing a survey and will put that information on this forum. Have you done anything as far as oil (0w40 vice 5w/30), warming up etc.

I have not contacted Ms Adelson. Do you have an email address for her?

I got the build date by sending an email with my vin number to socialmedia@gm.com. I did this to get a plaque made by Chris Frech.

I'm just about to hit 17,000 miles on my ZL1. Oil pump is original. No concerns. I did switch to Mobil 1 0W 40 Dexos 2 in the summer of 2018 and have stuck with it ever since.

Engine is stock except for a Green drop-in filter and removal of the rain/snow blocker in front of the air intake tract.

Driving habits have not change since I bought the car. I don't track or street race it but I don't baby it either.

Only engine issue was a bad bearing in the supercharger idler pulley that showed up in 2018. Pulley was replaced under warranty. Otherwise, knock on wood, my ZL1 has been trouble free. I just replaced the battery in May. I was shocked to get almost seven trouble-free years from the OEM battery.

Hi,

Here is her email: kathleen.adelson@gm.com

I had to replace my battery last year as well. Glad to hear you’re having a good experience with the ZL1

Hey George, I don’t track mine and the oil I use is Synthetic Valvoline 5W30 or Lucas Synthetic 5W30. I let it idle when the engine has sat overnight to let the oil circulate and warm up before pulling out. As you can see in the description I just have a RotoFab intake. I got my info from the same website that hawk02 got his from several years ago.
