GT500 isn't a pony car. pony cars are affordable and production models. The GT500 isn't production, it's not even a Ford, it's a shelby. Go buy a mallet/berger/baldwin camaro if you want a gt500 competition.
PONY CARS are the affordable sportscar. Learn your heritage please. =) |

Voted SS, it was/is looking like the Z/28 would be more $$$ than I need to spend for now anyway. Ponycars should be affordable.... unlike the gt500kr
Mindz: ZL1 Camaro? or Z71 GMC?

I was making a point. if money is no object, that vette throws down. But the gt500 isn't affordable, so it's not a pony car.
As for your Z71, I bet I would destroy it in the snow. Gimme some fast food trays and I'll beat you round the corners with some bad ass slidin. =P |

If there is a Z28 (or whatever the name), i won't buy an SS. I'll wait. However, if the waiting's too long, I may go on a used GT500. It all depends on WHEn it will pe produced, and first on WHEn it will be announced. Af any chevy is completely out their minds and decide to NEVEr produce a supercharged, and I get convinced of it, then it would be hard to decide... SS looks amazingly good, but looks like an "average joe" car to me. It's beautiful, but I don't feel raw power while looking at it. So I'll be pretty mixed between a good looking car and a raw GT500. Damn, I hate this situatino where we don't know. Maybe chevy makes it purposely to mistake Ford and let them believe they'll stay alone on the 500 segment. But come on Chevy, have pride, make a firm announcement: yes or no will we have a supercharged, and if yes, WHEN? Not knowing pisses me off, and might make chevy loose a couple of customers

I would love to have a Z/28 again, but if they decide to make one later and it is at the price points we think it will be, I'll probably settle for a SS. And that's not a bad thing as I think the SS will be a great performer for the money with an LS3. All the other nice things they've done with the new Camaro are just a bonus in my opinion.

Yup. I'd like some firm answer. The best would be a confirmation there will be a Z28 soon. But I would take it also if there is a firm statement "there will never be a supercharged Z28 for the 5th gen". Then I could take a decision: go on an SS or go on a GT500.
