For those worrying about door dings...here is my answer.

I found unpainted bodyside molding, custom cut it for my doors and fenders, and had a friend paint them.

They look factory to me.
Do you like them?

If the goal was to get some protection from door dings while looking classy and as "factory" as possible, I think you succeeded! I prefer the car without those lines, but I do miss them...I don't have to worry about my 3rd gen nearly as much since it has them. This looks really good for an aftermarket job.

I don't understand why. Door dings are very ugly and costly to repair. Unless you have safe parking everywhere you go, you are bound to get some jerk to park next to you and ding the body line.

I have side protection on 75% of it now.

My '99 Firebird was a DD for 10 years, and only has one door ding, thanks I'm sure to the side molding. I don't think it would look good on my VR Camaro unless it was color matched. Looks great on your car!
