I can't believe it. I think the oil companies are doing this on purpose to keep us on gas because that's where they're making all the money, using less of it isn't going to do them any favors. A real shame.

Once again, yes I will. Why? Because gasoline prices will keep going up. Diesel has somewhat tapered off....and I have a feeling that technology will get better giving MUCH higher gas mileage on the diesel engine. Wasn't it Volvo that was doing something to get 75mpg's out of their diesel??? That's twice what...a Malibu? is getting on HWY. Meaning that filling up a tank of diesel will get you twice as far as filling up on regular unleaded at 3.65 when diesel is $4.00 a gallon. Now.......let's see what's cheaper in the long run.
Again, I'll take the diesel. Mmmmmmmmaybe the turbo diesel. |

I suggest you take a look at European diesel cars, like the BMW 5 series. When the engine starts, you won't even notice it's a diesel. I strongly believe diesel is the future in the short term (30-50 years). After that, it's anyones guess! |

I agree with you on that point. I was speaking with my dad and he brought that subject up. I think they saw all these people getting trucks adding the diesel option, and knew they would be in trouble so ran up the price of it. People started getting smart, and they crank the price up, shame. On the subject though, why not? If it still performed well, and didn't sound like crap, why not? From what i understand, diesel engines generally last longer than regular gas engines? That would be a major plus too, longevity and gas mileage. Hopefully diesel goes back down soon, this is why all products are going up in price, the freight is getting insane.
