Resolved : Warning indicator: A/C off due to high engine temp

Hey guys,

A few days ago I posted the above problem, but have since had it fixed at my dealership.

The problem was with the engine coolant temperature sensor. Just needed to be replaced.

If anyone runs into this problem (you can view it here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93094)
this is the most likely cause. Rest easy, your engine is probably *not* overheating.

Cheers,

Nick

On the V6 it's threaded into the left side of the block, aft of the oil filter canister.

It's well below the coolant high water mark, so you have to drain the coolant before replacing.

On the LS3 and L99 it's in the left head, just forward of the exhaust manifold.

Installation torque is 15 lb.ft., BTW.

I forgot to update this thread. What we found was the wires to the temp sensor were very brittle like they had been overheated. Replace and insulated the wires and have not had this issue again.
