Header install question
I will be installing headers soon and I was wondering how high the vehicle needs to be jacked up. Does anyone have photos of the vehicle in the air during the header install?

Don't just get them barely off the ground. The more clearance you have the easier it will be to get your header in.

As high as you can safely get it. Makes it easier. Also having a second set of hands helps. I drove mine partially up a trailer that I removed the center wooden boards from. Made it real easy.

I had mine maxed out on jack stands which worked great. I did have to jack them up an extra few inches to get the OEM manifolds out but that was it.

Did it on $40 Walmart ramps. You're overthinking it.

Mine is lowered 1.25 inches and no way ramps would have worked. Getting the old manifolds out was where I needed the room but I didn't unbolt anything but where the cat attached to the exhaust. I put mine up quite a bit.

I got sick of jacking the car up and lying on my back so I bought a 2 post car hoist. This it the best garage tool I have ever purchased. Also the most expensive but it is used all the time. Just wish I had one years ago.
Sorry, not really answering your question but just in case your under cars a lot, then do consider one. |

As high and safely as you can especially on the driver side. My stock exhaust manifold kept getting caught up on the steer shaft, so I had to jack it up a little higher to get the right angle to pull it out.
