Until you get the thing washed, avoid driving through clouds of feathers.
But really, even if you could have gotten to a car wash in three seconds flat after the exposure, that tar would have been just as adhered as it is now. Aerated matrial cools very quickly, and as soon as it hit your car, it was bonded. |

If you want really cheap but effective use Kingsford Charcoal Lighter. Will not hurt the paint but will remove the wax so put a coat back on after you wipe it down.

That sucks! Same thing happened to me. Just throw in a little elbow grease in the next wash and it should come out!

Ditto on the WD-40 - works great on bugs too.

Instead of using products that will strip the wax like paint thinner, charcoal lighter and wd-40 may I recommend a "cleaner wax"?
The other night I wash washing mine and I noticed a few boogers of wax. Quite a few actually. I grabbed some old Turtle Wax Cleaner Wax that I had laying around, dabbed it on and wiped away the tar with ease.
