Laser is becoming more common, but no not "most" LEO's use them. Radar is still used way more often.

You have to be smart and understand that going over hills and around large corners
that no detector can detect through the ground nor large amounts of foliage.
If you dont feel like your superman when you get one your safe.

This would be my next one, maybe pricey but it beats out everything in detection and is completley undetectable for those pesky VA cops.

Haven't used one in years. I used to live in VA where they're illegal so I got used going without. I know where I can open it up and not. When going back/forth to work I use right foot restraint and/or cruise control.

I've never had one as I've never had a speedy car. I got a 3.3 l Buick Century that has some get up, but regarding the Camaro I ordered, I'm really more concerned about being pulled over for just the uniqueness of the car. Its not as common in my area yet. At least from what I see. I feel like going to the gas station after work where about 4-8 cops are shootin the breeze at 2am and introducing myself. Lol. See that decal officer? Thats my I support the Fraternal Order of Police sticker. Lol.

But seriously, I've rarely gone 85 or above. I'm usually speed limit or 10 over at most.

I'm gonna revisit this topic after I receive my Camaro tho. Lol.

Had a passport 8500 x50 since 2006-2007 and loved it until it broke last year. Finally shelled out the cash for a vally one and love it. Only thing is I really miss the mute button that was on the cigarette jack on the passport. I hate having to reach so far to mute it

I have the 9500ix and it has detected speed traps over hills AND through foliage on several occasions. Almost every time it detects a signal i have to wait at least 3-5 seconds before the cop comes into view. One time on a straight road I waited about 15-20 seconds before an oncoming cop car came into view. I definitely don't regret this purchase. A cheap radar detector is a waste of money but a good quality one like the passport or valentine 1 is worth the money. I haven't got any experience with the valentine 1 but i can't imagine a detector being better than the one I have. I can tell you that the 9500ix is a bit more aesthetically pleasing, however.

eh, I've seen this app before. Considering it doesn't actually scan for radar I am going to stick to my V1

Yeah. That is going on pure speculation. No accuracy in Trapster.

i havent used a RD for 20+ years...i get a ticket about every 3-5 years, have a lawyer fix it. i am very careful in the camaro, since our DD's are "stealth" vehicles, Yukon and a big conversion van, we dont attract much attention in them
