2010 LS3 Burns oil

Hey guys I have a 2010 SS 148KM she’s burning oil but has no leaks at all I filled it with the 5W40 shell to the top dot and today it was on the last dot two weeks ago I guess.

Noticed some oil on the intake elbow of the PCV hose and it's kept falling off a bit.

so any thoughts before rebuilding?

I would run a compression test before I jumped into rebuilding.

+1. Troubleshoot first. Then spend money. Which Shell oil are you running? I hope it's not Rotella. You should be running a good quality Dexos 5w30 unless you've been instructed differently by a knowledgeable builder.

Good advice above!!! You might try changing oil brands around but keeping the recommended weight, I’ve seen some engines not like a particular brand but be fine with another brand.

Also I would Check the PCV system over real good before you get to wrapped up in a rebuild. if it’s building too much pressure it can cause it to burn oil. Also if the valve guides or seals are worn it will cause it to use oil but not really need a rebuild. Is that 148,000 MILES or 148,000 KM? Just to make sure we are on the same page.

I would both, check compression and do a leak down test to help diagnose things further if the PCV system checks out.

Another thing you can do is pull the plugs & post some pics. An easy way to keep them in order is to poke 8 holes in a cardboard box & mark them 1,3,5,7 drivers side & 2,4,6,8 passenger side.

Thanks y’all for the advice, sorry to respond late I’m new to this website.

148.000KM using shell helix ultra L, mods Xforce cutback and catalytic converter delete with tune, after tuning it begin to burn oil.

After a hard pull tonight when i reached maybe 5600 rpm i got the "Service Stabilitrak" light go on and of immediately, so i plugged my OBDscanner and i got p0300, p2272, p0443
