New ZL1 acting strange

Took a ride in the zl1 yesterday and stopped and put gas in it and then drove about 5 miles and shut car off and sat for about 10 min and drove about 5 more miles shut car off and went into the store when I came back out I started the car it said " reduced engine power" "stabilitrac" and it was shaking so hard I thought it was getting ready to throw the s/c off top the engine! So I immediately turned car off waited and restarted to same thing......so I waited 3 or 4 min restarted it ran and sounded great with exception of CEL being on. I drove it straight home and that's were she stayed and I will obviously contact the dealer today ( even though there past practice is very very unimpressive) but I wondered if any of you LS/Camaro veterans can give me a little insight? Thank you very much.

Car is 100% stock 250 miles on it.

Some new cars have had issues with the ECM and the connections going to it. The CEL light will give the code and it should be easy to resolve. The pins in the ECM connector have also been a problem on some new cars. Other than that, I am sure they will check the main engine harness and associated ground connections.

This may be off subject but since we are talking about connections I was laying under it spraying the belly off the other day and right inside passenger rear wheel there is exposed connections/wiring is that normal? Looks like it could easily be water damaged and I don't remember my 1le having this.

yes...the connections near the fuel tank and suspension wiring appear to be "unprotected". The magnetic shocks that your 1LE didn't have is the major difference.

Well this sounds like the key piece of information to me...

The car has only 250 miles in it and your underneath spraying water...

I'm sure you just sprayed some electrical connection and now the car acting all funny.

I'm going to say it anyway but that is way too OCD. The only underside of a vehicle I ever cleaned was the Fire Engine on a formal inspection. Now you are second guessing GM engineers and the wiring. If it was damaged by water don't you think they would know since the car has over 5 years, and thousands of owners Good luck with that.

Haha no that was a few days ago I was underneath washing .....I'm new to FI cars but not cars all together. I did get a good laugh out of that tho. And also yoh are correct I no that they are different animals but though maybe these stood out more because they were unprotected and the bright colors but I honestly did not think of the extra components due to the magnetic ride ( which is soooooo nice) . Thank you all very much though this once again is the reason I like Camaro5 for the knowledge of others that are willing to share! Even if I get harassed now and then haha and I will because I am a very curious person who likes to educate so I ask plenty of questions stupid or not!

Thanks for your input and yes I'm extremely OCD but if you take the time to read I did not relate the wiring in the rear to my current issuse I ask about it because I noticed it a few days ago and since I was getting feedback from what seemed to be knowledgeable ZL1 owners I ask if they new there purpose. I had drove the car multiple times since "washing" the underside of the car just curious if mine had not be properly wrapped or if all of my fellow owners had this. You are 100% correct in the fact that if those were the issue I doubt they would of made it for this long I just wondered if what I had was normal and Stephen12zl1 being the nice guy he is already cleared that up for me.

Same thing happened to my brother in-laws car. The replaced the ECM and the battery, been good since. Seems to be that they had some bad ECM's in a batch of them.

The main power wire at the fuse box had a loose nut. It was creating all kinds of strange issues, service stabilitrack , car shut off after moving about ten feet, the center dic would tell me to roll up and down drivers window. The dealer replaced the fuse box and positive cable. I have had no issues since the fix.

Was it brand new when you bought it?
