Hope this isn't anyone on here!

Just saw this on a news flash. Moral of the story - don't let your friends drive your Camaro if they don't know how to drive fast cars.

Owner's fault for letting someone drive his car without prior experience.Another "more money than brains" scenario.

Is that a ZL1 1LE?

A little judgemental....

I never even had a vehicle with a v8, my two v6 was a tacoma and a pilot, my 1LE is my first performance car and first V8.

The car is not hard to drive aggressively while maintaining full control.

if the owner put it in track mode or all nannies off, probably not the best idea, if so i'd blame owner too.

I let someone drive my old Accord 6 speed coupe once when it was pretty new and he proceeded to red line it in every gear down the street till I grabbed the gear shift, put it in neutral, and told him to stop the car right now.

I will never let anyone drive my cars ever again. Learned my lesson there.

Maybe.. but I still wouldn't have let someone drive my SS with no prior experience of driving a car with this kind of performance.

I'm in the same boat as well, my SS is my first V8, other V6's are my current Tacoma and previous Maxima. Took me a good month to get comfortable with the power of the SS.

at the end of the day, regardless of how much you LOVE your car, it is just a car.
They both walked away from the accident with a story to tell. If something like this breaks a friendship, then they were never friends to begin with.

It was totaled, insurance will get him a new car, if he doesn't have insurance he is an idiot.

I'm quite certain this could break up a 20 year friendship.

It would be akin to your friend burning your house down. You gonna be having beers and joking about it that evening?

To you your Camaro is obviously just a car. To a lot of us, it's much, much more than that.

People who want "just a car" drive Kias and Toyotas.

This. Nobody drives my cars except me. Because nobody else is going to pay for it.
