Removing the "Camaro" emblem off the side
Has anyone done this? Just got my car on Monday. I think it would be a cleaner look with out them. Never been a big fan of emblems.
Anyway, what is the best way to do this and not hurt the paint under? |

Anaheim Hills! Thats my work turf I've read a few things about debadging.. I've always used fishing line to remove the emblems, and removed the residue with a clearcoat safe adhesive remover.. I pretty sure Mineral Spirits is clearcoat safe... It's been awhile since I've debadged. Just make sure to wax that bad boy afterwards, adhesive remover will remove all the wax as well...
PLEASE be careful as to what you use to remove the gunk... Paint thinner = Paint Booth, if your not 100% sure, don't use it... A friend of mine purchased "Adhesive Remover" it didn't advertise that it would eat all the way down to bare metal within 10 seconds... PM me if you have any issues.. I'm always in ANH Hills

I have used dental floss on my SRT8 Jeep. Worked like a champ. I plan on doing the same thing as you when mine comes in.

I've used goof off successfully on the clear coat of my 2000 camry. It will remove spots of touch up paint that you get on accidentally but won't remove the factory paint.
You could always take off the just the CA, and make it say MARO, take a picture and then start a thread. Sit back and watch the heated responses. "LOOK AT MA MARO" |

Fishing line and 3m adhesive remover. The 3m won't hurt your paint.

X2. A hair dryer carefully used will make the process even easier. I did my Tundra this way, and the 3M remover worked great on the clear coat. This makes waxing a lot easier also, especially if there are a lot of emblems on a vehicle.
