The 'risers' are mainly to help bring the speaker to the door cover. If it works and you're happy, you should be good.

You will want to put some sort of foam or something to bring the speaker out to the door card, or you will be losing output to the inside of the door card. Maybe FAST rings or weatherstripping. Good to hear you're digging the P660's!

Ok, will do. Yes, they sound good, now I am getting picky about sound quality.... Reading up on amp settings, thinking about changing rear speakers to 6.5s, maybe even pulling out my old school amps to play around with them lol I have a old Mtx2150x I used to use for subs and a Orion amp when Orion was one of the top amp makers.

Car audio is expensive, but not as bad as when in my young years. I remember the old punch amps, ppi, Orion, xtant etc costing in thousands, had old school image Dynamics subs etc.

I hear ya! Took me 2 years of 3 jobs to obtain the equipment I'm having installed next week. I just finished soundproofing my trunk and doors. If I need to, I'm going to do the floor with mlv, and rear quarters with denim insulation, but I don't plan on competing, so not a priority at the moment.
